RRNW Seattle Speaker Series November 28th, Steven Malloch
Speaker: Steve Malloch, Western Water Futures LLC
Title: A Dam is Not Forever – A New Dam Removal Initiative in the West
Where: Naked City Brewery & Taphouse, 8564 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103. All ages.
When: Tuesday, November 28th, 2017. 5:30 pm Networking, 6:30 pm Presentation
For this special event, Steve Malloch, a Principal with Western Water Futures, will be presenting his recent work on dam removal and a dam removal funding project. Steve Malloch is a practitioner of political hydrology – working at the intersection of policy, law and technical water issues. Steve is trained in hydrology and law, and has worked as a hydrogeologist, lawyer and lobbyist. He brings technical, legal and political tools to bear on the problems of improving the environmental performance of large water systems, especially water supply, irrigation and flood control projects in the Western US, and on the looming problems of adapting to the impacts of climate change on water infrastructure and use.
Please join River Restoration Northwest for the final Seattle speaker series event of the year!
The purpose of the speaker series is to provide a local networking opportunity for the stream restoration community outside of the annual symposium, and the chance to hear from an expert on a restoration-related topic, in an informal setting, with beer! Speakers will present for 20 to 30 minutes with time for questions and discussion. Food and drinks are available for purchase at the bar. You’ll be in charge of your own food and beverages but, rest assured that the storytelling and conversation will be excellent.
Parking: There is limited parking behind the brewery and street parking.
Bus: From downtown Seattle, take bus #5; from the University of Washington take bus #45.
Bike: Bike parking is abundant in this neighborhood.
This event is sponsored by Herrera Environmental Consultants.
