Are you a current student passionate about advancing your career in the field of River Restoration? Do you want to learn from the experts, network with peers, and help run a conference? If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be eligible for RRNW’s Internship Program.
The RRNW Internship Program was established to provide a unique opportunity for students to attend the annual RRNW Symposium, which occurs annually in February at Skamania Lodge in Washington. The RRNW Symposium is a premier event for professionals and researchers in the field of river restoration. It features keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, poster sessions, and social events. Interns have the opportunity to learn from experts, expand their professional network, and support Symposium operations.
Commitment:
- Be on-site Sunday afternoon (02/02/2025) through Thursday afternoon (02/06/2025) the week of the Symposium.
- Be willing to support Symposium operations including compiling materials, supporting audio/visual during presentations, and helping with registration and presentations.
Lodging and meals will be covered for the duration of the Symposium. Travel to and from the Symposium will be reimbursed up to $500 for mileage, air fare, and meals purchased while traveling.
RRNW has 4 intern positions available each year. Applications will be open July 12 - September 20, 2024. Recipients will be notified by November 1, 2024.
To apply for the internship, you need to meet the following criteria:
- You must be a junior or senior in a relevant undergraduate program or in a relevant graduate program.
- You must have a demonstrated interest in the field of river restoration.
- You must submit a completed application form.

Symposium Student Interns
River Restoration Northwest is soliciting student interns for the 2020 Stream Restoration Symposium between October 21 and November 15, 2019 at 11:59PM PST. The application form will be available on this page starting on October 21st.

Student interns will have a unique opportunity to work with river restoration professionals at the symposium. Interns will be responsible for assisting with activities such as compiling symposium materials and helping with registration and presentations. Interns will be expected to be on site from 1pm Monday February 7 through Thursday February 10 and will be responsible for their travel costs. Each intern will be required to pay $100 for symposium registration and will receive meals and shared lodging for the duration of the symposium. Meals include: Dinner with the Board of Directors on Monday night; Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner on Tuesday & Wednesday and Breakfast & Lunch on Thursday. RRNW will support up to 4 student interns.
Notification of award will occur no later than November 22nd, 2019.
